Fun evening at the AWA Museum in Bloomfield NY

Here's a fun event for your readers.
Thanks!  73, Dean

Treat the XYL or a friend to a FUN night with the Bloomfield Home Companion Players at the Antique Wireless Museum.  Julie and I have seen the players twice...you simply cannot stop laughing and enjoying yourself the entire time!  These guys rehearse hard and are professionals.  The date is Wednesday, March 7, 2018 (7:00pm).

This time, they will put on a Live Radio Show with Music.  Reminiscent of pre-TV days, there will be sound effects, great comedy, and outstanding songs and live music.  There will be tasty refreshments too!  You will leave with a big smile on your face for sure.

Plan a night out and gather up some friends and family.  It's well worth the price of admission (5 bucks for AWA members, 10 bucks for non-member adults).  Advance tickets are available at the Museum or send me a note if you'd like to use PayPal.  Seating is limited and there may or may not be tickets available "at the door."

Get ready for some laughs!  After Hours at the Museum in Bloomfield will be a big hit!

220 mhz Friday night NET expanding across the state

The KD2SL 224.120 Repeater in Syracuse that hosts the Friday night 220Mhz Net at 7pm, will be adding in two more Upstate NY repeaters this week. The W2ACC; 224.260 in Stanley NY (just west of Geneva) and the KA2NDW; 224.470 in Clyde NY will be linked in starting this Friday. This should allow folks in the Rochester area and Finger Lakes to join in with the folks in Syracuse and Utica.

This is a general net, open to various discussion topics, but the main intent is to promote use of the 220 mhz band. So come join our net control host; Bob; KD2KKG on this growing Friday night net!

These three repeaters will also be linked at various other times and possibly on a semi-permanent basis in the future (stay tuned!).There is also the potential to add in other 220 MHz repeaters across the state in the future for this Friday evening net(through ALLSTAR linking). A big Thank you! to Kevin; KD2SL, Dave; W2ACC and Mike; KA2NDW our repeater trustees for adding this great linking capability to their repeaters and hosting this net!

Repeater details:
224.120 (-) PL = 103.5, Syracuse (Sentinel Heights) KD2SL
224.260 (-) PL = 110.9, Stanley (Finger Lakes), W2ACC
224.470 (-) PL = 82.5, Clyde, KA2NDW

MARS exercise - COMEX 18-1

Coming this month MARS (Military Auxiliary Radio System) will be holding its First Quarter 2018 exercise from the February 20th to the 23rd called COMEX 18-1.  Again, I will be collecting county status reports from members within the county and with those around Oswego County.   I will be running a net on the Fulton 147.150 repeater and will be on 60 meters band contacting other amateur operators.  As of right now I am not sure which time I will be on the Air to collect information, I will send out emails and make comments on the Pathfinder Nets leading up the exercise. At the same time collecting weather reports from the local air ports.
