Cayuga County changeover to Digital P25 system

Cayuga County Fire and Police dispatching through the Cayuga County 911 Center has cut over from analog to the new Digital Radio System as of 12/5/2012. Cayuga County has joined the Central New York Interoperable Communications Consortium (CNYICC) Network, along with Madison, Oswego and Onondaga counties.

Scanner listeners will now need a digital trunking receiver in order to listen to this system. Scanners such as the Uniden BCD 396X/T and 996X/T, Uniden Home Patrol and the Radio Shack Pro-197(same as GRE PSR-600) are excellent radios for listening to the new system.

(There is an analog simulcast of CC Fire/EMS dispatch that you can still receive on 453.41250 mhz)
