Marathon Hamfest - 1/10/26 - Let the Hamfest season begin!

 First Upstate NY Hamfest of the year!

The Marathon Hamfest will be held on January 10 2026 at the Marathon NY Civic Center, Brink St in Marathon NY from 7 AM until Noon. Admission is $6.00 each, under 12 free.

Tables are available at $10.00 per 8' space. To reserve tables contact Pat at pdunn5@gmail.com.

 

VE tests will be given beginning at 9 AM. Pre-registration is recommended and may be done by clicking this link: https://hamstudy.org/sessions/689138b2503f62a1cfd8e393/1 You will receive a reply with basic information. The testing location is off-site, and requires a two minute walk. VE tests are provided by the TCARA VE team. Travel Directions:

 

From Syracuse, Cortland and the North: Use I-81 South to Exit 39. Turn Left on to Route 11 South. At the light, turn right on to Route 221 West (East Main St). Immediately before the steel deck bridge, turn left on to Peck St. In one block the Civic Center is on your left. Parking for the Civic Center is in the rear of the maplefest buildings. Note: Parking next to the building is handicapped only.

 

From Binghamton, Whitney Point and points South: I-81 to Exit 38. Turn Left on to route Route 221 West (East Main St), go straight through the light. Immediately before the steel deck bridge, turn left on to Peck St. In one block the Civic Center is on your left. Parking for the Civic Center is in the rear of the maplefest buildings. Note: Parking next to the building is handicapped only.

 

From Ithaca: Route 13 North to Dryden. Take Route 38 South to Harford, then Route 221 East to Marathon. Turn right immediately after the steel deck bridge on to Peck St., the Civic Center is on your left. Parking for the Civic Center is in the rear of the maplefest buildings. Note:  Parking next to the building is handicapped only.

 The 43nd annual Cortland Hamfest and Technology Fair will take place on Saturday June 14th at the Cortland County Fairgrounds , 4301 Fairgrounds Dr. in Cortland. 7am-1pm

Admission: $6.00 per person, under 12 free. Outdoor Flea market is free with admission. There are 25 indoor flea market spaces with electricity available for $10.00 per 10' length, first come first served. BYO Table.

VE tests will be available off site beginning at 9 AM. Directions will be provided.

Breakfast will be provided by the Cortland County 4-H

Travel Directions: I-81 to exit 54; follow signs to Ithaca and Route 281. Turn left on to Route 281 South. In 8/10 mile, turn left on to Fisher Ave, then right on to Fairgrounds Drive.

From Ithaca: Route 13 North to Route 281 North. Drive past all the car dealers and fast food places etc. Turn right onto Fisher Ave, then right on to Fairgrounds Drive.

25th Anniversary Skywarn Recognition Day - 12/7/24

 CQ CQ CQ... WE'RE UNDERWAY for the 25th Anniversary Skywarn Recognition Day (0000Z to 2359Z Dec 7, 2024)!  This event was developed in 1999 by the NWS and the American Radio Relay League (ARRL), celebrating the contributions that Skywarn volunteers make to the NWS mission:  The protection of life and property.  

Amateur radio operators are a significant portion of Skywarn volunteers/spotters across the country.  When everything else fails, ham radio is the last line of communications (as just occurred with Hurricane Helene when many hundreds of cell towers were knocked out in the Southeast as well as fiber cuts).

SARC (Marathon) Winter Hamfest January 14, 2023

 The Upstate NY Hamfest season will be kicking off again in Marathon NY!

The Skyline Ham Radio Club Winterfest will take place on January 14, 2023 at the Marathon Civic Center in Marathon NY.

Details:

We have limited tables and table space as it is an indoor hamfest. Tables or spaces are $10 each, admission is $6 per person.

VE Testing will be held at the Olde Town Hall, is directly behind and tucked up against the back side of the fire house which is across the street from the Civic Center. It is accessible by the same driveway that leads to the bank drive through  / ATM. It is the same driveway / parking lot that leads to the side entrance of a church. There will be a VE Testing fee is CASH only, no checks or cards accepted. Also exact change is required as they will not have change. NBT bank has an ATM located in the same area.
