ON THE BENCH – 6:15P During this months “On The Bench”
session, all of the projects completed since September will be available to
those that missed them.
Topics include:
•Soldering Basics – irons, guns, wires, terminals, printed
circuit boards, components……
•Building flexible test leads with alligator clips and
banana plugs.
•Soldering Pl-259 connectors – each attendee will leave with
a 3-4 ft. coaxial jumper.
•Building J-Pole style portable 144 mhz antennas using twin
lead, coax, and BNC or PL-259 connectors.
•Building a simple powerpole polarity checker, made from a
red/green LED with one resistor, powerpole connectors, hot glue, and heat
shrink tubing. These sessions for new as well as experienced hams. The goals
are for participants to learn basic construction skills and leave the session
with a useful finished item.
MAY PROGRAM - OPERATING AWAY FROM THE SHACK
Several Members Will Present Their Approaches To Portable
Operations – HF, VHF, Antennas, Batteries, etc.
